GOLDPOLY eyes 500MW new solar plants

Goldpoly New Energy Holdings Ltd (HK: 686), whose largest shareholder is China Merchants New Energy Group (CMNE), has tied up with China Triumph and Huawei Technologies on 500MW in new solar power plants, representing the first batch of project pipelines between the parties.

Engineering, Procurement & Construction) services for solar power plants at home and abroad, while Huawei’s high-quality photovoltaic inverters will help facilitate the stable operation of our solar power plants overseas,” said Goldpoly Executive Director/CEO Mr. Alan Li.

“The year 2014 will witness rapid growth for Goldpoly,” Mr. Li added.

According to the agreement, Goldpoly plans to acquire solar power plants which are developed and constructed by Triumph in China, Europe, North America and Japan, subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions.

The first batch of projects provides 500MW of installed capacity for target projects.

Goldpoly continues to reinforce its pioneering business model which integrates project financing with the photovoltaic business.

“We are determined to lay a solid foundation for building the most efficient and professional platform for operating photovoltaic power plants in the PRC.”

Huawei will be the preferred provider of inverters and information and communications technology (ICT) solutions for the coming projects, as appointed by Goldpoly and Triumph.

An internal rate of return on acquisitions of target projects should not be less than 9%.

GOLDPOLY completes purchase of 180MW in Qinghai

Goldpoly New Energy Holdings Ltd (HK: 686) along with shareholder firm Renewable Energy Trade Board Corp (EBOD) -- a renewable energy trading platform under China Merchants New Energy Group (CMNE) -- obtained a new business license on 7 January 2014 for the 180MW solar power project acquired from Zhongli Talesun in Gonghe, Qinghai Province, with the acquisition now having been formally completed.
