Be careful of this stock. The financials are NOT fat and they can't sustain the high costs of paying their doctors such exorbitant salaries, also coupled with high rentals. There is limit on how high they want to charge the heartlanders, as govt polys does give them a fight for their money. It is basically service industry but their overheads are very high. Go for other service-related bets....
There is increasing demand for all sorts of health care services, especially in an affluent city like Singapore. Plus healthcare demand is something inelastic, which means strong bargaining power in charging medical fees. But Singapore rental rates killing everyone, especially for businesses like Healthway which need a wide network of space in retail areas.
I share your view. I'm not sure about how Healthway handles its rental problem. Is there a way for it to buy the premises in which it operates? From the accounting point of view, the money spent will be treated as capital expenditure and so it saves on rental expenses. Raffles Medical was paying rental for its hospital until it made the decision to buy its own building to run a hospital. the rental saving was reflected in its bottomline. also, for healthway to join the league of Raffles Medical and IHH one day, it has to go one step up by operating a hospital. i hope i don't sound too naive. Views please.

Raffles Hospital was initially not doing well. It was SAR that help Raffles Hospital to fill up the beds and from that time onwards the Hospital was doing fine.
You have a point. I guess for Healthway to shine, it will have to deliver results. I'm still curious what asset it is trying to buy - for it to mention it in its second quarter financial statements, it probably is something significant.

Got a shocking news Healthway medical president lam pin Woon resigns and they are keeping quiet about it . Do not see any announcement . Heard from source it will be lead by MIng yi Yeow . Current sham of Neiglow and new to the industry and joined only like few months back . I am holding on my shares previously but I think better sell all 85 lots . Anyone seen any announcement which I missed ?
