Positive impact on S-REIT sector
Tuesday, 16 December 2008
At 27 cents this morning, Cambridge Reit is down 56% from a year ago.
A KEY event in the S-REIT sector happened last week when Cambridge Industrial Trust secured debt refinancing.
Nomura Research said: ”The wider implication for S-REITs on the whole following this announcement is likely to be positive, and should help to allay much of the concern over refinancing, since Cambridge, one of the smaller S-REITs with no sponsor, has proven its ability to secure refinancing.”
Lingzhi is the first herb with Eu Yan Sang-AVA certification.
ASIAN HOUSEHOLD brand name Eu Yan Sang is a leader in retailing traditional Chinese medicine through its cutting-edge research work.
In the latest development, its medical herbs are 'fingerprinted' for grade and purity, traced to farm source, as well as clinically tested for function and efficacy.
We spoke with CEO Richard Eu for details on that landmark scheme.

CAMBRIDGE INDUSTRIAL Reit is among the top volume stocks this morning following its announcement last night that it has secured refinancing for its loans.
So much for the overwhelming fear in the market about the refinancing risk.
We reproduce (with permission) an irreverently-written but insightful estimate of the fair value of the Reit by sgdividends.blogspot.com
Its estimate based on Discounted Cash Flow is 5X the current market value. Really, ah?
SHARES OF palm oil plantations have been climbing in recent days on sharply higher exports of palm oil.
UOB Kayhian reported this morning (Dec 11) thatexports for the first 10 days of the month were 619,180 tonnes compared with 320,081 tonnes during the same period in November.
“This could be an early signal of a revival in palm oil demand,” according to the stock broker.
UBS Investment Research’s Dec 5 Asian Equities Outlook 2009 report: “Sentiment indicators are hitting extreme levels.
"We believe the market is due for a sharp rally in early 2009.The implied equity risk premium is now nearly 4 SD above mean.
"Meanwhile, the 13-week rate of change has hit -40%, suggesting a deeply oversold market. As well, we note that insiders buying in the market has widened beyond smaller stocks to include management of large blue chips.”

IT WAS just a plot of empty waterfront land last year.
Now, the Graha yard which Drydocks World took over from Labroy Marine has been transformed into a well-organized rig-building hub.
That's what we found out during a trip to the Batam site this week.

Dr Ng Cher Yew, chairman of Oceanus: “As a good farm manager, we don’t have the same worry that an investor has. Since investors are not as believing and knowledgeable as us, we want the insurance to remove a concern they have.”
He was referring to the millions of abalones that SGX-listed Oceanus grows in China, which investors worry are at risk of being hit by disease.

CASH REGISTERS usually ring loud for travel agencies during year-end as holiday travel surge, but this year’s high travel season was hampered by Bangkok’s anti-government protest.
How does this affect Asia’s largest online hotel reservation network, Asiatravel.com?
The company posted a 22% growth in top and bottom line for FY08 despite the year being plagued by financial turmoil, snowstorm in Southern China, earthquake in Sichuan, restrictions on travel during the Olympics, and political instability in Malaysia.
